Police investigators and key witnesses recant how a modern-day Jack the Ripper managed to tear his way through the North of England during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, until his eventual capture and downfall. This new and impressive Netflix documentary focuses on the horrible crimes committed by the serial killer, along with the police chase that ensued and the eventual capture of the man responsible, Peter Sutcliffe.

Challenger: The Final Flight – Review

This four-part Netflix documentary takes an in depth look into the 1986 Challenger space shuttle that exploded seventy-four seconds after take off, documenting an unimaginably difficult period of time for a generation of people looking on live or on their television sets. The doc delves into the astronauts themselves and possible cause of the accident. An insightful but equally as emotional series – Challenger: The Final Flight is now streaming on Netflix.

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness – Review

Joe Exotic is a fascinating but extremely naive and misguided animal park boss that leads a wild cast of characters that include drug lords, con artists and cult leaders who all share a passion for large and exotic cats. This is a dark and extremely disturbing insight into some of the controversial big cat rivalry’s taking place in the United States.

The Pharmacist – Review

After losing his son to a drug-related murder in 1999, a small-town pharmacist, Dan Schneider, decides to investigate the New Orleans based homicide in the sole pursuit of gaining justice for his son. Unbeknown to Dan, his efforts would unearth a troubling trend of young, seemingly healthy people being sucked into the world of OxyContin painkillers. This is more of a documentary that focuses on the merging of two stories – one being Daniel Jr’s death and the second being the resulting investigation that followed.

Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer – Review

This three-part Netflix documentary follows a group of online justice seekers that are able to track down a person they deem responsible for killing kittens, only to discover that the actions of the perpetrator quickly become more twisted and sinister as the story progresses. A really good documentary that leaves you wanting more, despite the disturbing and eerie nature of the subject. It’s worth noting that this review was based solely on the show I watched at the time and not the true story it was based off.

Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez – Review

A captivating yet controversial three-part Netflix documentary that focuses on the life and ultimate downfall of Aaron Hernandez, a rising star within the NFL who was convicted of murdering Odin Lloyd and also accused of murdering two others. The documentary delved deep into Aaron, his family, upbringing, employer, sexuality, potential CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) and much more. Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez is currently streaming on Netflix.
